The organic desert rose is harvested in the beginning of June. Rose damas (Damask Rose) is the rose grown in Chinese Xinjiang Taklimakan Desert. It is one of the best quality roses in the world. The cultivar was originated from West Asia and introduced to China thousand years ago through the ancient Silk Road. In the South Xinjiang desert area, the special weather, soil condition and highland geological surroundings make the rose grow very well and the quality is very outstanding here. The rose is plump and appear unique purple red color. It has very strong rose fragrance!
Taklimakan Desert
The rose garden is at the edge of the Taklimakan Desert, and oasis of Hetian, South Xinjiang
The garden is conformed to organic farming. It is in the end of May. The rose grows very well here due to the sandy soil and suitable weather for rose growing.
The rose is harvested in the beginning of June. The garden is owned by local Uyghur people.
The reason why it can be naturally dried is that here it has the special desert climate, the air being very dry and very sunny. Most of the fragrance of rose is preserved by the way of natural drying. (The drying in roasting oven needs much higher temperature than natural temperature, which makes the flower lose a lot of fragrance).
The dry rose is plump and has fascinating rose fragrance.
