Tea Garden: Sanmahaphon Organic and Herbal Products Community Enterprise Farm. All of our Thailand Organic herbals are grown and harvested on the Sanmahaphon Organic and Herbal Products Community Enterprise Farm in Maetang district of Chiangmai Province, Northern Thailand

Farming Methods: Organic farming. Hand harvested. Most of the other activities on the farm are also done by hand such as weeding, watering, preparation work, planting new stock etc

Production Methods: Organic Galangal ground into 100 mesh powder. Approximately 60% of the production is done by machinery but as it is a community enterprise and aims to support the local people, some of the work continues to be done by hand. In the hot and cool seasons most of the raw materials are sun dried naturally in a solar house before putting them in a hot-air oven. In the wet season they go directly into the oven.

The Sanmahaporn Group was established in 1994 by a group of Thai neighbours in the local community who were concerned about the chemical residue in many of their food products. They started with growing food for their own needs and sharing it within the community. They launched their first product – Organic Gynmena Tea – in 2009 for selling both nationally and internationally. As a result, the business grew and as it grew it created jobs and helped to raise the living standard for the local communities. It continues on today with not only benefitting the local community but also adding towards the health and wellness of all humanity worldwide.
