Gynostemma Tea (Jiaogulan Tea) and Gymnema Sylvestre Tea now available direct from Thailand

Our 2 Thailand Origin Herbal teas – Organic Mulberry Leaf and Organic Butterfly Pea Flower are continuing to be popular and “in demand” products. And with tea trends moving more towards herbal health and wellness teas, it looks like this trend is going to continue next year and well into the future.

We have 2 new Organic Herbals that we are introducing to our wholesale collection of Thailand Origin teas. These are grown on a Certified USDA Organic tea garden in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. Both are herbal beverages that can be brewed and consumed on their own – or they can be blended with other teas to create unique health and wellness beverages.

Gynostemma Tea (or Jiaogulan Tea as it is often referred to using the Chinese name) The full botanical name is Gynostemma pentaphyllum. It is also sometimes referred to in Asia as Southern Ginseng. Jiaogulun tea is dark greenish in color once brewed. The flavor is somewhat mild with a slightly sweet and earthy taste.

The Gymnemic acid effectively blocks the sweet taste receptors (‘Gurmar’ in Hindi means ‘destroyer of sugar’). The flavor of the tea itself has quite a mild grassy and earthy taste, although in looking at customer reviews there are some who say it is not such a pleasant tasting beverage.
