Butterfly Pea Flower Tea In Demand

Butterfly-pea-flower-teaWe’ve just done an analysis of our wholesale specialty tea sales for the year to date. It is interesting to note that several herbals are starting to show up on our top 12 best sellers list for the first time, reinforcing some of the 2019 tea trend predictions that indicated consumers are now looking more to health and wellness teas. Organic Dried Butterfly Pea Flower (in tea and powder form) is in big demand not only for the health benefits, but it’s unique vivid blue color (changes to pink and purple when lemon is added) that is creating a lot of appeal. Other herbals in the top 12 list include Organic Mulberry Leaf Tea that has been popularized by Dr Oz and others as “a superfood that helps to control blood sugar levels and possibly prevent diabetes” Our Turmeric Herbal Chai blend from India is also becoming popular because of the many health benefits associated with Turmeric and the other herbs it contains.

Organic GABA Oolong is Consistently our Best Selling Tea

A Camellia Sinensis (non-herbal) tea that continues to amaze us is Organic GABA Oolong tea. It has consistently been our #1 bestselling specialty tea for more than 5 years – steadily increasing almost every year and now accounts for over 10% of our total sales. Although it is one of my personal favorite teas (I drink it every day!) and one of the main teas we promote, I’m still curious as to why it continues to be so popular. I usually drink tea for the pleasure and enjoyment it gives and tend to not get caught up on the health aspects of tea (although it does feel good to know I’m drinking a healthy beverage). Nevertheless, I feel that GABA Oolong goes further than just being a pleasant and enjoyable tea – it’s different. It’s got a unique story behind it and whenever I drink it it seems it almost carries a special energy all of its own. Some people say it helps with hangover recoveries, others say it perks them up and gets them in a better mood, some say they drink it at night, and it calms them, and they sleep better. Others have commented that drinking it has a noticeably tranquil and calming effect and helps alleviate their stress. Of course, most teas produce these results to varying degrees and maybe it’s the placebo effect of drinking GABA Oolong that is more pronounced …. but hey if it works it works!

I would be interested to hear if anyone has any comments on their own experiences – or experiences that others have shared with them regarding GABA Oolong.
